Story
“We’re a small, family-owned and operated breeder specializing in high-quality West Highland Terriers, and Yorkshire Terriers. Nestled in East Central Alberta, our dogs thrive in our state-of-the-art heated kennel, set on 160 acres of expansive countryside.”
Richard, a seasoned yorkie owner, brings decades of firsthand expertise to the MacKay team. Originally from New Brunswick, he’s called Alberta home for over 30 years. With a background in the oil industry, Richard quickly ascended to a management role with a leading North American drilling contractor. He now channels his drive and dedication into MacKay’s Tiny Terriers.
Connie, along with her daughters, bred and raised Chihuahua puppies for years. Recently retired from the Real Estate Industry, where she spearheaded the growth of one of Edmonton’s largest Home Staging Companies. After 18 years in Edmonton, Connie returned to her hometown in Central Alberta to relish time with her grandchildren and embrace a serene country lifestyle.
Both Richard and Connie have been devoted to pets since childhood, carrying their passion for animals into adulthood. Alongside their work with Cairns, Westies, and Yorkies, they also spend part of their day caring for their miniature cows, which they’ve raised for the past four years.
