The Perfect
Companion
Yorkshire Terriers, well loved for their sweet dispositions and teddy bear faces, are the perfect puppy companions. Their loyalty and playful antics are sure to inspire a lifetime of Yorkie love.
Neurological
Stimulation…
The first three weeks of a puppy’s life are a crucial time. Puppies should be gently handled and stroked at least two times a day so they learn that human touch is a pleasant experience.

ARE YORKIES GOOD WITH CHILDREN?
Yorkies do tend to get along quite well with children, but more so if they have grown up together.
ARE YORKIES GOOD WITH OTHER PETS?
In general, both male and female Yorkies have mellow temperaments and do well with a variety of animals, including cats, dogs, and even the occasional bunny!
DO YORKIES BARK A LOT?
Small as they are, Yorkies do make quite good guard dogs. These little dogs love to use their voices, and will do so readily if they sense there is a stranger present or their families are in any danger. This is also where good socialisation is so important, as you don’t want to find yourself with a continuously ‘yappy’ dog. If properly socialised, the Yorkie will know the difference between a friend and an intruder, and will not be prone to overly guarding their owners.
DO YORKIES RUN OR ROAM?
The Yorkie has a great abundance of energy and a real enthusiasm for adventure, and could quite easily keep up with some of the bigger dogs in the park.
DO YORKIES NEED A LOT OF EXERCISE?
The Yorkie only requires short walks but will still need a good 15-20 minutes off lead to burn off some excess energy. Without receiving the right amount of physical stimulation, you might find your Yorkie sneaking off in the house and getting himself into mischief.
DO YORKIES CHEW A LOT?
When a Yorkie is bored or anxious (which is often caused by the stress of being alone), the dog may often resort to chewing to self sooth. A Yorkie usually is not happy just laying around the home.
ARE YORKIES EASY TO TRAIN?
Most Yorkies are bright and quick to learn, though that often depends on what you’re trying to teach them. They tend to learn tricks readily: Beg, Dance, Spin, Roll Over. Of course they expect a treat after they perform. They can be little divas!
ARE YORKIES EASY TO HOUSEBREAK?
House training your little prince or princess requires patience, commitment, and the willingness to put up with lots of accidents along the way
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BATH MY YORKIE?
You should bathe your Yorkie once every two to four weeks. If your puppy is particularly adventurous or has a longer Yorkie haircut, you may find additional baths are necessary.
SHOULD I GET A MALE OR FEMALE YORKIE?
Female Yorkies are not necessarily sweeter than males. In fact, many owners have found that male Yorkies tend to be more affectionate and loyal. Yorkies quickly become attached to their human. Their want for attention makes them the best furry friend and the cutest little troublemaker. Boy or girl, the endless bounds of a Yorkie’s love are forever!
HOW LONG DO YORKIES LIVE?
On average, Yorkies can live around 13 to 16 years, but some can make it all the way up to 20 (or more)! In fact, the world’s oldest living Yorkie is estimated to be 28 years old.
CAN WE MEET THE PUPS PARENTS?
You should always be able to see puppies at their home. If a breeder wants you to meet them elsewhere, that can be a red flag.
We welcome all new puppy owners to come to our facility, all we ask is that you call to schedule an appointment. Puppies have nap time, feeding time and socialization/play time and we like to keep them one a routine.
